At Cloud View Garden, apart from providing beautiful accommodation – we also offer delicious and creative home cooked meals from snacks, nibble platters to a full blown dinner. Try our sensational mushrooms, sautéed in butter with our home-grown organic garlic, topped with lemon thyme from our herb garden and a squeeze of lemon. Served in the pan of course so you can mop up the juices with Sourdough, straight from the oven.

PICNIC BASKETS

Picnic Baskets are always fun – we take ours to another level though. We don’t tell you what’s in them. That’s right – but don’t freak out, read on a little and you’ll find out why. It is all about the fun of a SURPRISE! So, just tell us any food allergies and foods you don’t like and from there, we’ll create a Mystery Basket that you’ll love. And if you’d like us to up the ante, how about we ‘hide’ your basket at various secret locations and you can ‘find’ it (with clues of course). Like at a private viewing lawn next to Puffing Billy Railway Line. Maybe in Sherbrooke Forest or perhaps in one of the famous gardens in the area…….

WINE

If you like wine, you ARE going to have SO much fun with us. We LOVE wine. We have an extensive Cellar and we are happy to share it with you. No less than eight French Champagnes feature on our wine list ahead of many other exquisite drops we love ourselves. Check out our Wine List in the Compendium in your Retreat.

GIN

We’re partial to an occasional whisky, brandy and various other spirits but with award winning distillery Four Pillars Gin not too far from us in the Yarra Valley, we’ve decided to celebrate their innovation and passion, by featuring all things Gin. Put your feet up and read a book all about Gin. We’ve left lemons and limes in your fridge – go nuts => make a Gin Cocktail, try the Artisan Chocolate hand made with Four Pillars Gin and of course, marmalade (yum) made with Four Pillars Gin!

PANTRY

We’ve discovered a lot of goodies as we travel and meet people in life. One of the things we love to do is to visit the many fabulous food producers and learn more about how these amazing foods are made. Some of them have become firm friends eg: Graham and Sarah Sandilant from Whisk and Pin in the Blue Mountains in NSW and Caroline Gray, expert Jamologist of many years who now makes special small batch jams for individual businesses .......... just like us !!

ENCOUNTER – WILDLIFE and PHOTOGRAPHERS

Wildlife abounds at Cloud View Garden and in nearby surrounds. Wildlife coming up close because they are just as curious as you are – beats a zoo or sanctuary, any day!! Our favourite place to get up-close-and-personal with Kangaroos, often with Joeys in pouch, is at Cardinia Reservoir. There are other native animals and abundant birdlife in this area.

Panoramic views, weather – mist, clouds, rainbows, wildlife, lush fauna, glorious gardens, verdant farmlands, quaint hillside villages and historic steam trains makes this region an absolute treasure trove for photographers. Be inspired and get creative!!
